Independent Health and Safety Audits

Woburn Safety Services are able to assist employers with Health and Safety compliance by undertaking a systematic examination of the organisations arrangements.

A short example of the elements examined during an Audit of the Health and Safety Management System include :

> The Health and Safety Policy Statement
> The Safety Management System, and its Manual
> The Organisational Structure
> The Management of Contractors
> Workforce Involvement (Consultation)
> Risk Assessments
> Accident / Incident Reporting and Follow Up
> Emergency Procedures and Training
> Workplace Inspections
> Fire Safety and Fire Precautions
> Health and Safety Expenditure
> New Acquisitions (Work Equipment and Premises)

Prior to an Audit taking place the Auditor visits the Client to discuss, in depth, their specification and expectations. A complete list of the documentation required for inspection during the Audit is forwarded to the Client. This will be used to help determine compliance with both legislation, and the in-house Policies and Rules.

In addition the Auditor will to speak to employees at all levels during a workplace inspection, to determine the culture within the organisation, their perception of the current standard of Health and Safety and whether they understand that they have legal responsibilities for ensuring the employer can comply with the law.
